Currently, I'm two weeks into my sophomore year of college, as well as my first two weeks of apartment living. Even as someone who loves home-cooked meals and is averse to eating out, it's definitely a lot tougher than I thought to actually plan and cook each meal -- especially when the weeks are busy and hectic with student organization recruiting and classes. Even with attempts to keep grocery and food spending low, it's important to make time to eat out with friends and catch up with them over a big (overpriced) bowl of noodles. What I've realized is that the memories made hanging out with people over food just cannot be replicated alone in a kitchen.
I wanted to recap my August grocery lists so that I can record my own spending, as well as hopefully be a bit of an example of college student spending. I'm most definitely just starting to learn how to budget for groceries and healthy eating, so I think it'll be fun to look back at these grocery lists in the future and see how far I've come!
